Cal. 45 ACP. S# 731365. Shipped June 1941 to Springfield Armory; in the ramp up to the US involvement in WWII. Per "U.S. Pistols & Revolvers 1909-1945" by J.C. Harrison, this pistol appears to have all correct era parts including 5" Colt Type 6 barrel & Coltrock grips. MAGS: 1 M.S. Little 7 rd; good blue with wear & spots of patina. CONDITION: Frame has approx. 70% original brushed blued finish with edge wear, spots of oxidation & oxidation at outline of grips; gray patina appearance to handling areas of frame. Slide has approx. 80% original brush blue with pinprick finish loss throughout with scattered spots of finish loss, sm. dent at port, edge wear, cycling wear & scattered marks. Good appearing grips with flattened diamonds throughout. Barrel has approx. 80% blue showing cycling wear; Very good rifling with light frosting. (26-2048/MD). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
